Jurors
William B. Hogan — Selection & Awards Juror
William B. Hogan is an accomplished American painter, illustrator, and educator with a career spanning more than six decades. His work blends observation and imagination, often exploring the space between reality and the surreal through a highly personal visual language.
A New Jersey native, Hogan studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and earned his MFA from the Universidad de las Américas in Mexico City. He also had a long career as an editorial cartoonist for The Record, producing thousands of published illustrations.
His work has been widely exhibited and is included in numerous public and private collections. In addition to his studio practice, Hogan has been a dedicated educator, teaching at institutions such as The College of New Jersey and William Paterson University.
As juror for the 2026 ArtVenture Juried Show, Hogan brings a wealth of experience and a discerning eye shaped by decades of artistic practice.

Michelle Farro — Awards Juror
Michelle Farro is a contemporary painter and printmaker based in New Jersey. Working primarily from life, her work is inspired by nature, everyday surroundings, and personal memory, often capturing quiet, intimate moments with a strong sense of atmosphere and observation.
Farro earned her BFA from Laguna College of Art & Design and furthered her studies at the Florence Academy of Art. She exhibits her work in galleries and juried shows while also maintaining an active studio practice, producing both original paintings and fine art prints.
As Awards Juror for the 2026 ArtVenture Juried Show, Farro brings a thoughtful, observational approach rooted in traditional training and a deep appreciation for everyday subject matter.

Ronald S. Schotland, Ph.D.— Photography Selection & Awards Juror
Ronald S. Schotland will jury the photography competition. Born in Manhattan
and raised in its metro area, the young Schotland used photography to creatively explore the city’s landscape, architecture and street scenes. His camera work was mostly in black and white as a young teen and college science student.
Through the years, his work collection proved to be masterful. Traveling
extensively as the owner of an international business conference center, Ron has captured impressive landscape images worldwide. He is a lifelong student/teacher of camera art and its visual poetry.
